Preview Sandberg & Dinner

At 01.12.11 we pre-opened the exhibition “Down by the river” in presence of the artist Erik Mark Sandberg, who is based in Los Angeles. To create a more intimate atmosphere we combined the preview with a special dinner for 30 selected guests.
The Illustrator shows us quite plainly the topics beauty craze and consumer culture, in intensive shiny colours by his solo exhibition.
In a small lecture Sandberg described the grotesque hirsutism of his subjects serving as a metaphor for the perversion and exploitation inherent in contemporary consumer culture and the double-edged promise of overnight fame epitomised by L.A.
