Bea Seggering – Home Noise

Bea Seggering is exploring semantic aspects of everyday products. She is sublimating them in a subtile, poetig an humorous manner. A special focus is on traditional symbolic and social attributes of this products itself and the life situations that this products are used in. Objects and multiples are created, which help to become aware of conscious and unconscious meanings to analyse them and to give new associative codes.
Do you believe that your fridge has a soul? Or at least its own character? Are the sounds of every model in a range the same, or does each product develop a life of its own over time? Sounds, images and scents generate a feeling of familiarity. The hum of the fridge adds to the sense of security of your home. Why else would we tolerate a constant noise of over 40 decibels in our homes on a daily basis, while still feeling comfortable? (Sound installation with 5 full-scale fridge images and particular sounds.Alu-Dibond, MP3 player, speakers)
