Directors
Pascal Johanssen studied Law and History in Berlin. It was in 2006 after a completed research study at
the 'Universität der Künste' that he founded his first gallery which belonged to the small percentage of art dealership in Germany dedicated to contemporary graphic design and illustration.
Johanssen is the founder and Managing Director of 'Illustrative' an art festival as well as the director of 'Direktorenhaus'. Since 2008 he is the publisher of 'Objects Journal of Applied Arts'.
Katja Kleiss is a Gallerist in Berlin. She holds Chair of the Board at Illustrative e.V., and is Managing Director
of the Direktorenhaus. Katja Kleiss studied Aesthetic and cultural science at the 'Humboldtuniversität' in Berlin. After working for Goethe-Institut, Mexico City, in the area of program-coordination as well as for an arts foundation near Zurich, she then in 2006 switched to the Johanssen Gallery in Berlin.
