Background
With this project, Meisterrat and the YUVEDO Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting brain health and combating Parkinson’s disease, took a new, innovative approach to promoting science, thereby opening up the interface between art, business and science.
The exhibition also provided the setting for Brain Health and Parkinson’s Day on 11 September 2025. Leading politicians and scientists gave lectures and held discussion forums on highly topical issues related to brain health.
The project also served as the starting point for a major project to research the importance of art and culture for brain health, thereby promoting an innovative Parkinson’s therapy that could help hundreds of thousands of people affected by the disease.
Dr Jörg Karenfort, board member of the YUVEDO Foundation, sought allies: ‘I am convinced that the solution to the big and small problems of our world, including the preservation and restoration of brain health, can ultimately be found in the spaces in between. Come and help us in our search.’
Sarah Wedl-Wilson, Berlin’s Senator for Culture and Social Cohesion, was convinced: ‘Berlin is a city of spaces, nuances and shades in between—that’s exactly why we can make a valuable contribution!’
