Annually the Illustrative devotes itself to an under-represented art genre.
On October 30th, the opening party of the Young Illustrator Award exhibition took place at the Direktorenhaus. As an unique connection between illustration and craft also the beginning of the Deutsche Manufakturenstrasse has been celebrated on this evening.
A renowend jury has been chosen 30 artists for the Young Illustrator Award out of thousands of entries. More than 200 art works of the nominees are shown in the exhibition until 8th of November. After that, the winners will be chosen and shown at Illustrative Biennale for Illustration and Graphics in 2016. More than 500 invited guests celebrated not only the beginning of the exhibition, but also the beginning of the Deutsche Manufakturenstrasse. Illustrators and manufacturers came together with representors from politics and press, making the exhibition opening an unique connection between illustration and craft.
