Thomas Kuhlenbeck’s puzzling image combinations show a reduced color palette and display predominantly female figures in dramatic, frozen poses in front of a secular background with the means of drawing and collage. Conceptually, the work is close to surrealism, but is also influenced by comic, Dada and Pop Art.
